Rachel –
A great book to teach kids numbers and colors. Homestead mamas will wonder if this is an autobiography as it is eerily true to life about how one acquires more chickens!
Joshua Foster –
Chicken Math is a fun story, perfect for new readers. Our 6 year old has already read it to us a few times. Each time she finds a new way to add up the chickens. She seems to enjoy that part the most, and agrees you can never have too many chickens.
Over all I recommend this book for preschool readers and up. The colorful illustration combined with a funny story, makes Chicken Math an engaging story for our daily reading.

This book is adorable and my children loved it! The story line is cute and the illustrations are eye catching. Even though this book is suggested for preschool/toddler aged kids, my 5 and 7 year old enjoyed it as well. I highly recommend this book!

From the easy wording, to the pretty graphics… We love this book on our farm. We’ve read it many, many times since receiving it. When we bought chickens last week, my kids said “it’s just like the Chicken Math book… We can’t just buy 1 or 2!” Haha! This is a must-have book for any farm or chicken family.

We received this book awhile back and it was one that our grandson enjoyed. But this week (he’s about 27months) he has fallen in love with this book and made Grandma and Mama read it to him no less than 20x each! He is fascinated by some words like farm store and even makes me re-read the Dedication (and smiles each time!) The counting and colors are, of course, also favorite parts!

I bought this for my new grandson and have read it to him over the last six months. He’s a year old now, and chuckles when we turn the page and he sees more chickens. I love how its suitable for new readers but also good for the attention span of a 6-12 mo old.
