(Pre-Order!)
Stacy Benjamin
Before you run off to the country, it’s important to understand the day-to-day experience of homestead life and set your expectations accordingly. This guide provides a behind the scenes look into this often-romanticized lifestyle and includes pragmatic advice to help you transition to country living. In this book you will learn how to:
Research rural property before buying
Identify environmental and land use constraints
Design a practical garden to meet your needs
Prepare for raising poultry and livestock
Meet the seasonal challenges of nature.
The author also discusses topics that other homesteading guides don’t mention — how to afford the homestead lifestyle as well as the effect that moving to the country can have on one’s emotional well-being. Anecdotes and lessons learned from homesteaders across the country provide real-world insight into this challenging but very rewarding way of life.
